Senior Mechanical Design EngineerAbout the Role

We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team at Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Leadership

  • Lead the design and development of mechanical systems for various building projects, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Develop and implement design standards, guidelines, and best practices to improve design quality and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality designs that meet project requirements and industry standards.
    • Design and Development

Design and Technical Expertise

  • Prepare detailed design drawings, specifications, and reports using AutoCAD, Revit, and other design tools.
  • Conduct site surveys and assessments to inform design decisions.
  • Develop and maintain design documentation, including design briefs, technical specifications, and construction drawings.
Project Management

Project Coordination

  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Develop and implement project plans, including project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders, including clients, architects, and contractors, to ensure project requirements are met.
Team Collaboration

Collaboration and Communication

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality designs that meet project requirements and industry standards.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including clients, architects, and contractors, to ensure project requirements are met.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior team members to ensure design quality and consistency.

Professional Development

  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments, trends, and best practices to maintain technical expertise.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities, including training, conferences, and workshops, to enhance technical skills and knowledge.

Education and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Professional certification, such as CEng or PE, is an asset.

Experience and Skills

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical design and development.
  • Proven experience in leading design projects, managing budgets, and coordinating with stakeholders.
  • Strong technical expertise in mechanical design, including AutoCAD, Revit, and other design tools.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple projects.
