Project Engineer Role

As a Project Engineer at Lubrizol, you will play a critical role in helping the Huddersfield Plant meet its business objectives and improve overall performance by managing and executing various projects. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading project teams to ensure timely, within-budget, and to-specification delivery of final installations, equipment, and assets to the plant.
  • Identifying areas for improvement and implementing projects that increase plant efficiency and productivity, resulting in cost savings and improved output.
  • Ensuring project execution is safe and compliant with relevant regulations and standards, reducing the risk of accidents and incidents.

Key Accountabilities

The following key accountabilities are essential for the Project Engineer role:

  • Developing collaborative relationships across multiple functions, including Engineering, Manufacturing, and Procurement, as well as with business unit leaders.
  • Project management: Developing plans, monitoring progress, and preparing updates for stakeholders.
  • Participating in the evaluation and selection of equipment and contractors.
  • Working with third-party contractors to develop viable time scales and working practices.
  • Resolving problems with the team, plans, and budget to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Identifying potential problems, leading the team to develop solutions, and ensuring their implementation.
  • Planning and scheduling resources required to successfully deliver and support projects.
  • Serving as the contact for Distributed Control System-related projects, partnering with experts to assess DeltaV and other control system hardware and licensing needs.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A BS degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or a relevant field, or 5+ years of proven project execution experience in the chemical process industry.
  • Experience with project execution, installation, and construction processes, project management, and continuous improvement.
  • Good computer skills, including Office365, ERP SAP software, and project management software.
  • Experience with DCS (Emerson Delta V) or other similar plant control systems.
  • First-hand experience delivering capital projects.
