Highly Skilled Plastic Surgery Trauma Care Specialist

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated individual to join our team as a Plastic Surgery Trauma Practitioner at Swansea Bay University Health Board.
Job OverviewThis is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and passionate professional to provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced trauma setting. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in plastic surgery and trauma, with a strong understanding of wound care and management.
The role involves working closely with the multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional care to patients with plastic surgery injuries, including hand, skin loss, bites, and amputations. You will be expected to work independently, prioritizing tasks and managing your workload effectively to meet the needs of the service.
Main ResponsibilitiesThe key responsibilities of this role include:
- Providing expert care to patients with plastic surgery injuries, including assessment, treatment, and management.
- Working collaboratively with the trauma nurse team to coordinate care and ensure seamless transitions between services.
- Participating in education and training programs to develop skills and knowledge in plastic surgery and trauma.
- Maintaining accurate records and contributing to quality improvement initiatives.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Significant experience in plastic surgery and trauma, preferably in a university health board setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals.
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple demands.
- A commitment to ongoing learning and professional development, with a focus on staying up-to-date with best practices in plastic surgery and trauma.
