At AM Recruitment, we are seeking an experienced Construction Cost Control Specialist to join our client's team on a full-time, permanent basis.

About the Role

As a Construction Cost Control Specialist, you will be responsible for managing costs and ensuring financial control across multiple energy and water efficiency projects.

You will play a key role in project delivery by providing cost planning, budgeting, and contractual advice throughout all project stages.

Working closely with project teams, you will manage procurement, cost reporting, and contractor negotiations while monitoring budget adherence. You will also support the tendering process, ensuring that projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Preparing accurate cost estimates, including materials, labour, and overhead costs
  2. Monitoring project budgets and tracking expenses, implementing cost-saving measures
  3. Developing and implementing cost value reconciliation processes
  4. Providing regular reports on project progress and cost performance
  5. Identifying risks and proposing mitigation strategies

Requirements

To succeed as a Construction Cost Control Specialist, you will need:

  1. Experience in estimating, surveying, or tendering within construction or building services
  2. Knowledge of financial processes and developing cost value reconciliation processes
  3. The ability to read and understand architectural drawings/plans and develop cost estimates
  4. Strong communication skills
  5. A degree in Quantity Surveying or similar

Experience working with NEC and JCT contracts would be beneficial to your application.
