About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Electrical Maintenance Specialist to join our Facilities Management team at HMP Fosse Way, a new Category C resettlement prison in Leicester. As an Electrical Maintenance Specialist, you will play a key role in ensuring the electrical systems within the prison are maintained to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Fault finding and defect rectification on electrical plant and equipment.
  • Carrying out pre-planned maintenance of electrical systems.
  • Installing new electrical plant and apparatus as needed.
  • Documenting inspection findings and resolving issues independently or as part of a team.
  • Participating in an on-call roster (1 in 8 weeks), with occasional out-of-hours and weekend work.
Working Hours:

Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 16:30. Flexibility for out-of-hours and weekend work as required.

Qualifications & Experience:
  • City & Guilds Electrical Certificate or equivalent qualification.
  • Completion of a recognized electrical apprenticeship.
  • Qualified to BS7671 (current IEE regulations).
  • At least 5 years of post-apprenticeship experience in electrical work.
  • Willingness to undertake additional training to further enhance technical skills.
