HGV Technician Job Description

We are seeking a skilled HGV Technician to join our team at Focus Resourcing Group. As an HGV Technician, you will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of our client's fleet of commercial vehicles.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Perform vehicle inspections to DVSA and FTA standards
  • Fault finding, repairs, and servicing of commercial vehicles and trailers
  • MOT preparation to DVSA standards
  • Vehicle servicing to vehicle manufacturing standards
  • Completion of all relevant paperwork ensuring that all work undertaken is compliant
  • Use of diagnostic equipment
  • Follow all safety protocols and guidelines
Requirements:
  • Fully skilled with industry-recognised qualifications (City & Guilds / NVQ Level Three) in heavy vehicle service, maintenance, and repair
  • 2 years' experience as an HGV Mechanic (Post Qualification)
  • High level of communication
  • Basic knowledge of computers and fleet diagnostics
  • Good organisational skills and ability to prioritise workloads to meet deadlines
  • Must have the right to work in the UK
  • Brake experience (training can be given)
  • MOT preparation experience
  • Modern mechanical and electrical diagnostics and fault-finding
  • Accurate and timely defect reporting
