Long-term Teachers Ltd is collaborating with an exceptional educational institution seeking an Educational Support Assistant to deliver supplementary educational assistance to students in need. This position can be offered in either a full-time or part-time arrangement, welcoming diverse applications.

The primary focus of this role will be individualized support for various learners aged 16-25, many of whom may have special educational needs and disabilities. Experience in this field is crucial, although a specific subject expertise is not mandatory; a passion for education and learning is vital. The institution boasts state-of-the-art facilities and has recently received an 'Outstanding' rating from Ofsted.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist designated students in-class on an individual or group basis.
  • Provide academic support outside of class for learners.
  • Effectively support identified learners through online platforms, such as Teams.
  • Participate in Additional Learning Support team meetings, broader college briefings, and training sessions.
  • Collaborate closely with Learning Support Coordinators, Additional Learning Support Managers, and curriculum staff to identify new potential high-needs learners.

Desirable Skills & Qualifications

  • Good standard of general education, including Maths and English at GCSE Grade C or above (or equivalent), or a willingness to improve.
  • Experience working with young individuals aged 16-25 with additional needs, preferably within an educational context, though relevant experience in health, social care, or community settings is also applicable.
