Job Title: Autism Support Professional

Location: Bournemouth

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: £76.92 - £95.68 per day

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Autism Support Professional to join our team at a local Secondary School in Bournemouth. The successful candidate will provide one-on-one or small group support to students with autism, assisting them in accessing the curriculum and achieving their learning goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support to students with autism, promoting their social and emotional development.
  • Work closely with teachers and other staff to implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies tailored to each student's needs.
  • Support effective communication between students, teachers, and parents/guardians, ensuring all stakeholders are informed and involved in the student's progress.
  • Encourage and empower students to develop their independence and life skills, promoting self-confidence and resilience.
  • Regularly assess and track student progress, providing feedback to teachers and contributing to progress reports and reviews.

Requirements:

  • Experience or training in supporting individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD).
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards supporting student development.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students and colleagues alike.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in responding to the changing needs of students and the school environment.
