Job Description:

The Van Vliet Flower Group seeks a highly skilled Senior Horticultural Operations Manager to lead the Plant Department. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for ensuring the department operates efficiently and effectively, with a focus on maximizing profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Procure high-quality plants that meet customer needs and expectations.
• Collaborate with other Plant Managers to share knowledge and best practices in buying and merchandising.
• Implement accurate labeling systems to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Ensure products are displayed attractively and receive sufficient sunlight, while maintaining tidy shelves and trolleys.
• Assist with DEFRA audits and inspections to maintain regulatory compliance.
• Achieve projected sales targets by developing and implementing effective sales strategies.
• Analyze customer spending patterns to identify opportunities for growth.
• Identify new customers for the cash and carry and plant department, building relationships to drive business development.
• Optimize stock levels to meet customer demands and minimize waste.
• Manage and control stock to prevent theft.
• Verify sales invoices to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Monitor sales below cost and provide credits to customers as necessary.
• Ensure point-of-sale systems accurately process plant sales.
• Train and manage Plant Department staff to achieve performance goals and adhere to company policies.

Benefits:

This role offers a competitive salary range of £45,000 - £55,000 per annum, depending on experience. The successful candidate will also enjoy a comprehensive benefits package, including [insert benefits].
