About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Forensic Mental Health Specialist to join our Health and Justice medical team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing mental health assessments and support to prisoners across Greater Manchester, Cheshire, and Lancashire.

Main Responsibilities

  • Support the management of mental health clinics and undertake mental health assessments of prisoners prioritized based on clinical need.
  • Contribute to other aspects of clinical pathway management within the prison, including zoning meetings and supporting teams and managers in undertaking local investigations and quality improvement activities.
  • Develop strong links with the Specialist Services Care Group based at the Prestwich Hospital site and receive support and supervision from colleagues in the Health & Justice services.
  • Work collaboratively with a full team of prison healthcare staff, including mental health nurses, pharmacists, GPs, and other allied staff.
