Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Advanced Practitioner to join our Assistive Technology Team at The Children's Trust. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality, evidence-based assistive technology services to children and young people accessing our therapy services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead Assistive Technology Interventions
    • Develop and deliver assistive technology services to children and young people, promoting participation, communication, and interaction.
    • Provide clinical leadership to the Assistive Technology Team, identifying service priorities, delivery methods, and standards of practice.
  • Assistive Technology Expertise
    • Identify service needs for Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) and select appropriate hardware, software, access, and mounting options.
    • Stay up-to-date with mainstream technologies in specialist support, assistive technology, and computer access.
  • Collaboration and Communication
    • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including healthcare professionals, therapists, and educators, to provide a fully integrated approach to child management.
    • Develop therapy goals, plans, and methods in collaboration with children, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Leadership and Autonomy
    • Take responsibility for Assistive Technology interventions and maintain relevant records and reports.
    • Represent the Therapy Team and The Children's Trust as required, deputising for the Team as necessary.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in assistive technology, with a strong understanding of AAC and specialist support technologies.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong leadership and clinical skills, with the ability to provide clinical leadership and guidance to the Assistive Technology Team.
  • Ability to work flexibly across site and in terms of hours, as required.
