Job Title: Connected Car Test Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled professional to join our team at PS Computer Services Ltd t/a Parker Shaw as a Connected Car Test Engineer.

This is an exciting opportunity to work in the automotive industry, specifically in the connected car function. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in delivering engineering systems and components that meet the requirements of the project.

  • The key responsibilities include developing specifications, system integration, test, and validation plans to achieve quality targets for the project.
  • The candidate will construct and maintain test rigs and test vehicles in Telematics, Connectivity, Infotainment, and Diagnostic domains.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Perform flashing, coding, debugging analysis, and problem-solving on test benches and vehicles, as well as VW backend systems.
  • Analyze ECU logs to identify root causes and deliver solutions to resolve issues.
  • Plan and manage project-related activities on a weekly basis.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and suppliers to progress project deliverables.
  • Conduct requirement analysis and develop test approaches.
  • Deeply analyze issues captured during testing or reported by the team and developers.

Requirements:

  • A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • A solid understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile principles.
  • Hands-on experience in the Automotive domain.
  • Familiarity with vehicle network protocols such as CAN, LIN, FlexRay, and Automotive Ethernet.
  • Experience with system testing and integration, manual testing, reporting, and error management.
  • Ability to analyze vehicle logs, including DLT logs, Ethernet, and CAN logs.
  • Adherence to the VW standard VW99000 General Requirements.
  • Bonus points for experience working with VW tools such as ODIS, IDEX, VKMS, CP tool, ADB, Ethernet, and/or MQTT.

Salary: £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
