Acorn Insurance and Financial Services Limited is seeking a proficient and seasoned Senior Fraud Prevention Specialist to enhance our dedicated Policy Fraud team. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the extraction and evaluation of fraudulent data, develop and refine counter-fraud strategies, and collaborate closely with our fraud prevention, pricing, and underwriting divisions.

The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in application fraud detection, data analytics, and fraud prevention systems, particularly within the insurance sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enhance fraud prevention efforts through effective detection and deterrence at various customer interaction points.
  • Take ownership of, maintain, and advance counter-fraud rules across various platforms.
  • Work in conjunction with IT and development teams to identify and rectify discrepancies within fraud prevention systems.
  • Utilize SQL, Excel, and Power BI to report on strategic and operational performance related to policy fraud.
  • Engage with pricing teams to address fraud-related challenges and their implications on loss ratios.
  • Collaborate with other business units to assess and communicate fraud risk.
  • Promote data integrity throughout the organization.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies regarding Financial Crime, TCF, GDPR, and FCA regulations.
  • Maintain and foster professional relationships with intelligence providers, industry bodies, and law enforcement agencies.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience with rule-based fraud prevention systems.
  • Proven track record in developing and optimizing fraud detection rules.
  • Familiarity with organized fraud and application fraud risk assessments.
  • Proficient in SQL, Excel, and/or Power BI.
  • Exceptional problem-solving capabilities.
  • Strong understanding of insurance and underwriting best practices.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of compliance regulations within the financial services industry.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively within a team.
  • Demonstrated reliability and accuracy in all tasks.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills, with a consistent ability to meet deadlines.
