Histopathology Consultant

We are seeking an experienced Histopathology Consultant to join our team at East Suffolk and North Essex Foundation NHS Trust. As a key member of the multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the smooth operation of the Pathology Department.
About the Role:The successful candidate will have extensive experience as a Pathology Doctor, with a strong background in histopathology and diagnostic medicine. You will be responsible for examining tissue and fluid samples, making or confirming diagnoses, and developing treatment plans in collaboration with other healthcare professionals.
Working flexible shifts at East Suffolk and North Essex Foundation NHS Trust, you will identify diseases and develop appropriate treatment strategies based on your expert knowledge of patient conditions.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:- Communicate effectively with patients and their families, explaining diagnoses using various methods to ensure practical understanding.
- Deliver clinical care to patients where needed, conducting ward rounds and outpatient clinics.
- Oversee the smooth running of the Pathology Department, planning workload and staffing requirements.
- Supervise and teach junior medical staff as required.
- Adhere to the NMC professional Code of Conduct.
- Relevant experience at Consultant level or references to support transition to Consultant level.
- Evidence of stand-alone Right to Work in the UK.
- Pass an enhanced background check (DBS).
