Job Summary:

This role will oversee the coordination of the Peatlands Restoration Traineeship Programme, a part-time position (22.5 hours per week) that will manage and coordinate the programme's day-to-day activities, including recruitment, support, and mentoring of trainees. The Programme Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing the development, delivery, and review of training plans for each trainee, sourcing and organizing training workshops and short-term placements with other peatland delivery organizations, and carrying out project evaluations and reporting on an ongoing basis. The role is fixed-term and funded by the DAERA, NIEA, and Shared Island Initiative Peatlands Challenge Fund.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate the day-to-day activities of the project, including recruitment, support, and mentoring of trainees.
  • Oversee the development, delivery, and review of training plans for each trainee.
  • Sourcing and organizing training workshops and short-term placements with other peatland delivery organizations.
  • Carry out project evaluations and reporting on an ongoing basis.

Requirements:
  • Supervising and mentoring experience.
  • Project management skills.
  • Budget management experience.
  • Training or peatland conservation experience.
