Therapy Area Strategist

We are seeking a highly experienced scientific director to join our team at Havas Health Network.
The successful candidate will be a source of scientific, editorial and therapy area expertise within our organization, providing strategic direction and management across client accounts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership: Provide effective leadership to ensure excellent client relationships and drive business growth.
- Team Guidance: Lead and coach the wider scientific team to deliver excellence in client projects across various therapy areas.
- Resource Optimization: Ensure optimal allocation of scientific services resources and plan mid to long-term account alignment and succession planning.
- Cross-Functional Teamwork: Work with client services teams and business senior leadership teams to meet account and business objectives.
- External Relationships: Build relationships and liaise effectively with the Havas Health & You network, clients, and external experts.
- Strategic Thinking: Proactively provide creative ideas and strategic insights to assist and challenge client thinking and planning.
- Market Awareness: Intimately understand client and competitor products, therapy areas, portfolio, and commercial strategy in the context of the current and future market.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Keep up-to-date with industry codes of practice/legislation and external issues or events affecting existing or potential accounts or the business as a whole.
- Growth Initiatives: Identify and develop opportunities for organic growth, new business, and new ideas for Medical Education products.
- Proposal Preparation: Lead proposal preparation and present at pitches to secure new business opportunities.
- Project Supervision: Monitor project costs against agreed budgets and discuss changes to specification with the project team and client.
- Quality Assurance: Establish and maintain high-quality medical writing standards across account teams.
- Process Enhancement: Develop, monitor, and promote processes for excellent briefing and reviewing.
- Expert Advice: Act as scientific and strategic counsel to address internal and external comments intelligently and question those that are inappropriate, inaccurate, or unclear.
About You
- A degree educated in science or medicine with a strong scientific background, a PhD or Masters would be an advantage.
- Proven experience working in a range of therapy areas within a medical communications environment.
- In-depth understanding of UK and European medical regulatory environment.
- Understanding of the drug development and commercialisation process.
- A strategic mindset – able to partner with our client services teams to grow and strengthen our client relationships.
Estimated Salary: £100,000 - £120,000 per annum
