Job Title: Senior Supplier Development Engineer

Spirit AeroSystems is seeking a highly skilled Senior Supplier Development Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our supply chain team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to improve supplier performance and drive business growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze work statements to identify potential supply base solutions
  • Support technical assessments and lead supplier technical and risk assessment processes
  • Collaborate with procurement to support capability and capacity assessment reviews with suppliers
  • Develop and implement value engineering workshops with suppliers to identify continuous improvement and cost reduction initiatives
  • Provide support to supplier business readiness process and integration of global sourcing strategies
  • Assist in the expedite of parts when required and understand and challenge supplier LOBs and process lead times
  • Lead multi-function internal team communications and supplier/customer and internal interface in times of conducting triage activities
Requirements:
  • Preferably be qualified to HNC level in a related Quality/Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain discipline or equivalent
  • Or have 5 years relevant experience, within a Quality/Manufacturing Engineering or Supply Chain Management environment
  • Knowledge of AS 9100 and regulatory authority approval and certification requirements
  • Good communication skills and ability to interface effectively with customers and suppliers
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement and lean tool sets and awareness of drawings and systems as applied within our major customers such as Boeing and Airbus
  • Project Management, analytical and numeracy skills, commercial, contractual and financial awareness, cultural awareness internal and external to Spirit and basic relationship management skills
  • A good working knowledge of Microsoft Packages – Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Access
