Digital Archivist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Digital Archivist to join our team at the Digital Preservation Coalition. As a Digital Archivist, you will play a critical role in establishing and maintaining our digital preservation systems, ensuring the long-term accessibility and integrity of our digital assets.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Design and implement digital preservation strategies and procedures to ensure the long-term preservation of digital assets
2. Develop and maintain digital preservation systems, including metadata management and data migration
3. Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and prioritize digital preservation needs and develop solutions to meet those needs
4. Provide training and support to staff on digital preservation best practices and procedures
5. Act as a subject matter expert on digital preservation and provide guidance and advice to colleagues and stakeholders
6. Participate in the development and implementation of digital preservation policies and procedures

Requirements:

1. Master's degree in Archives and Records Management, Library Science, or a related field
2. Minimum 3 years of experience in digital preservation, archives, or records management
3. Strong knowledge of digital preservation principles, standards, and best practices
4. Experience with digital preservation software and systems, including metadata management and data migration
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels
6. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively
