Maintenance Technician

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at our production facility in Cam, between Gloucester and Bristol.

This is a permanent position with a 3 shift pattern:

Day shift: 08:00-16:00, Wednesday - Sunday

Morning shift: 06:00-14:00, Monday - Friday

Late shift: 14:00-22:00, Monday - Friday

Responsibilities:

  1. Comply with all health and safety policies and regulations.
  2. Resolve breakdowns, carry out PMs, and work on project/improvement works to minimize production downtime.
  3. Carry out risk assessments with relevant personnel and implement controls to minimize risks to acceptable levels.
  4. Lock off dangerous machinery immediately or repair and notify.
  5. Complete PM sheets with observations, jobs completed, and recommendations, and file with the Maintenance Planner.
  6. Gain information from production personnel to speed up fault-finding.
  7. Ensure engineering logs and computer systems are up-to-date with relevant information.
  8. Work with external contractors and manage their work on site.
  9. Collaborate with Kerry process Engineers and off-site engineering support.
  10. Assist in ordering spares and maintaining records of plant and equipment.

Requirements:

  1. Completed apprenticeship or relevant engineering qualifications.
  2. Experience in a similar role, ideally in a food manufacturing environment.
  3. Mechanical bias/multi-skilled, with experience in PID, process automation, VFD, motor drive knowledge, steam, and steam control systems.
  4. Flexible approach with a positive attitude.
  5. Experience with SAP/ERP, preferred.
