Production Manager Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Production Manager to join our dynamic team at a leading manufacturing company based in Bedford. Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the production process, linking between projects and installation teams to ensure timely delivery, quality standards, and budget adherence.
  • Directly manage the shop floor team, including Health and Safety requirements, through the existing supervisor and team leader structure.
  • Plan workload for the shop floor to ensure efficient time and process management, and report deviations from estimated times.
  • Ensure quality of products delivered to customers by implementing and maintaining relevant procedures.
  • Coordinate with the installation manager to ensure proper project handover and timely delivery of products.
  • Liaise with supply-only customers to meet timescales.
  • Oversee plant machinery functionality, plan maintenance, and focus on mechanization, particularly in lifting and handling.
  • Conduct regular production meetings with projects, sales, and installation teams.
Requirements:
  • Excellent communication and people skills to manage approx. 35 shop floor staff.
  • Experience working in an ISO 9001 company is desirable.
  • Collaborative working style, with the ability to work as a team to solve problems.
  • Coaching leadership style to harness the best in the shop floor team, building trust and respect.
  • Ability to give and receive constructive and respectful feedback.
  • Willingness to learn and demonstrate humility.
  • Experience in recruiting both agency staff and full-time employees.
  • Background in woodwork/building trade is advantageous but not essential.
  • Strong attention to detail and experience in planning.
  • IT literate, with the ability to understand and manipulate data.
