**Job Role**

As a Removals Porter, you will be responsible for safely moving household and office furniture and other items to new premises or via storage. You will work in small to large teams, depending on the project requirements.

This is a zero-hours contract role, with potential for permanent contracts after completing 3 months of service, demonstrating ability, skills, and reliability.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Safely packaging items before removal or storage
  • Wrapping and protecting furniture for shipping overseas
  • Specialist packing for delicate items, such as china, glass, artwork, and antiques
  • Using packaging to protect fragile items, such as computers and antiques
  • Taking apart larger items of furniture for packing and removal
  • Removing doors, door frames, or windows to facilitate large furniture movements
  • Packing items, loading them into vehicles, and securing them safely
  • Checking that all goods are secure before driving off
  • Driving to new locations, unloading items, reassembling furniture, and placing it where the customer wants it
  • Unwrapping furniture and unpacking cartons

**Requirements**

  • Flexible working hours, working as and when required
  • Moves between longer distances may involve overnight stays in lodgings or in a vehicle
  • Driving License holders preferred but not essential
  • Experience preferred in removal or similar roles
