Job Title: Consultant Geriatrician

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Geriatrician to join our team at the University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Department for Medicine of the Elderly, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality care to our patients.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will have a strong background in geriatric medicine, with a proven track record of providing excellent patient care and leading multidisciplinary teams. You will be responsible for developing and implementing clinical services, conducting research, and teaching and mentoring junior staff.

Main Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and implementation of clinical services for older adults
  • Conduct research in geriatric medicine and publish findings in peer-reviewed journals
  • Teach and mentor junior staff in geriatric medicine
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to decision-making
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with other healthcare professionals and stakeholders
Requirements
  • Full GMC Registration with a licence to practice
  • MBBS/MBCH and possess MRCP
  • Eligible for entry on GMC Specialist Register or within 6 months of receipt of Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or CESR in Medicine for the Elderly at time of interview
  • Postgraduate thesis
