Healthcare Support Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Healthcare Support Specialist to join our team at Canterbury Christ Church University. As a key member of our student services department, you will play a vital role in supporting students with physical health and neurodiverse needs.
About the Role
The successful candidate will work closely with students and academic staff to provide advice and guidance on navigating the teaching environment. Your expertise in managing complex health conditions and negotiating adjustments under the equality act will be invaluable in this role.
You will also have experience in advising staff on the impact of health difficulties, and knowledge of existing disability legislation and support for students within a Higher Education establishment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert advice and guidance to students and academic staff on navigating the teaching environment.
- Work closely with students to develop and implement strategies to manage their health needs.
- Collaborate with academic staff to provide advice on accommodating students with disabilities.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of disability legislation and support options for students.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Proven experience as a Community Nurse, Occupational Therapist, or Occupational Health Nurse.
- Expertise in managing complex health conditions and negotiating adjustments under the equality act.
- Knowledge of existing disability legislation and support for students within a Higher Education establishment.
- Experience of advising staff on the impact of health difficulties.
