Aerospace & Defence Manager

We are seeking an experienced Estimating Manager to join our team at Placing Leaders. As a key member of our commercial glazing company, you will be responsible for managing the estimating process, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of quotes to clients.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in estimating, with experience working in a facade, curtain walling, windows and doors manufacturing company. Familiarity with software systems such as CAD, LogiKal, and SMARTs is essential. You will also have strong people management skills, with the ability to work effectively with a team to achieve business objectives.

1. Manage the estimating process, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of quotes to clients.
2. Develop and maintain relationships with clients, architects, and consultants to ensure a strong pipeline of business opportunities.
3. Collaborate with the sales team to identify new business opportunities and develop strategies to win new contracts.
4. Manage and maintain the estimating database, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information is available at all times.
5. Assess and price preliminary items and access equipment required to carry out a successful contract.
6. Submit fully prepared tender documents to clients, including Bills of Quantity, clarifications, inclusions, and exclusions, and supporting documentation.
7. Negotiate costs and proposals with clients, including any value engineering work to successful completion and awarding of project.
8. Build positive and lasting relationships with clients to establish new and repeat business.
