Job Description
  • Line responsibility for 2 members of staff
  • Reviewing and preparing monthly P&L, cashflow and variance analysis reports for formal meetings with the Managing Director
  • Preparing monthly financial analysis to budget and previous year comparisons, uploading relevant notes into Group accounting software
  • Year-end reporting requirements and collaboration with the external auditor for group audit needs
  • Compiling payroll for the accountant along with payroll journals and submission of payments to HMRC
  • Day-to-day transactional accounting sales ledger and purchase ledger management
  • Executing payment runs to both intercompany and 3rd party suppliers
  • Multi-currency accounting and reporting
  • Reviewing VAT returns (completed at Head Office) within legal deadline dates for UK & Ireland Tax authorities
  • Providing monthly insights around costs and associated variances
  • Reviewing and processing employee expenses and credit card expenses
  • Collaborating with the MD on 3rd party warehousing requirements and SLA's
  • Ensuring import and export regulatory compliance and relevant incoterms with freight forwarders or carriers
  • Serving as the first point of contact for HR and IT related matters and liaising with 3rd party IT & HR Support

The ideal candidate should possess over 3 years' experience within a similar standalone role, holding a QBE or relevant accounting qualification. Proficiency in Excel (Pivot tables / Vlookups) and accountancy software Dynamics 365 is desirable. A technically knowledgeable individual with good commercial acumen is required, alongside a growth mindset and interest in seeing the role and business develop.
