Job Title: Outreach Tutor

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Outreach Tutor to join our team at Esland. As an Outreach Tutor, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality education and support to our young people with Special Educational Needs.

About the Role:

This is a full-time position based at our Grantham School, covering our children's residential homes in Lincolnshire and surrounding areas. You will be responsible for delivering face-to-face tuition to small groups and on a one-to-one basis, supporting vulnerable young children aged 7-18 years with SEMH and complex needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver high-quality education and support to our young people, promoting their academic and personal development.
  • Work collaboratively with our team to develop and implement individualized education plans, ensuring our young people receive the best possible support.
  • Provide one-to-one and group tuition, adapting your teaching style to meet the diverse needs of our young people.
  • Contribute to the development of teaching and learning within our homes, sharing best practices and expertise with colleagues.
  • Participate in regular team meetings and training sessions to ensure you are up-to-date with the latest developments in special educational needs.
Requirements:
  • Qualified Teacher status or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience of working with young people with Special Educational Needs, particularly those with SEMH and complex needs.
  • A sound knowledge of the national curriculum, particularly in mathematics and science.
  • Experience of working with young people who challenge, using positive behavior management techniques.
  • Some knowledge and experience of vocational educational pathways.
  • Committed, conscientious, and passionate about inclusion, with a strong focus on promoting equality and diversity.
  • Ability to plan, evaluate, and monitor learning and progress, using data to inform your teaching practice.
  • Ability to differentiate all aspects of learning to promote inclusion and attainment, using a range of strategies and resources.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with young people, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
  • Highly organized, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage your time effectively.
  • Resilience, stamina, flexibility, and a positive attitude to hard work and challenging situations.
  • A full UK driving license and access to your own vehicle.
