About the Role

The Baker & McKenzie Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft mbH Leveraged Finance team is seeking an experienced Associate to join our Banking and Finance group. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for advising clients on a wide range of matters, with a particular focus on leveraged finance, syndicated loans, acquisition finance, project finance, and trade finance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advising clients on complex financing transactions, including origination, negotiation, and documentation.
  • Developing relationships with clients to gain a deep understanding of their businesses, economic drivers, market, and sector requirements.
  • Engaging in business development activities to promote the firm and identify new opportunities for growth.
  • Working collaboratively with senior lawyers and other team members to deliver high-quality advice and services to clients.

About the Team

You will be working closely with our experienced Leveraged Finance loan partners, including Matthew Cox, Anthony Kay, Nick O'Grady, and Ben Wilkinson. Our team advises banks, private credit funds, and other lenders, sponsors, borrowers, and corporate entities on all aspects of financing transactions.

Requirements

  • A qualified leveraged finance associate with experience acting on private credit and/or syndicated financings.
  • Familiarity with debt financing in the context of competitive auction processes.
  • Exposure to a wide range of finance products, including Term Loan B, Unitranche, and/or Bank/Bond Structures.
  • Excellent academic credentials.
