Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG) is seeking a skilled professional to join their organization as a Senior Vice President of Asian Market Trading. In this pivotal role, you will be tasked with the pricing and risk management of Asian market products during European trading hours. Your primary objective will be to assist MUFG's Emerging Markets Global Division (EMGD) clientele with their Asian market exposures while driving revenue through market-making activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the sales team to deliver tailored solutions for Emerging Market (EM) rate exposures
  • Address client inquiries, ensuring that proposed solutions adhere to best execution standards
  • Offer competitive market-making services to MUFG's EMGD client base
  • Engage in trading Asian market products to generate market-making revenue
  • Accurately price all new pricing requests via voice communication
  • Provide insightful trade ideas and generate alpha in rates products, particularly those related to Asia and emerging markets
  • Stay informed on market commentary and developments in emerging markets
  • Conduct business in compliance with regulatory standards
  • Assist the desk head with specific operational requests

Work Experience

Essential

  • Direct experience in front office global markets with Asian market products
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment

Preferred

  • Experience in market-making for KRW/IDR/INR or TWD offshore rates
  • Background in EMFX pricing and risk management
  • Familiarity with EM institutional investors

Skills and Experience

Functional / Technical Competencies:

Essential

  • Enthusiasm for trading, particularly in FX or emerging markets
  • Strong comprehension of FX markets, especially within the emerging market context
  • Proficiency in VBA / Excel for pricing models
  • Robust macroeconomic and technical analysis capabilities

Preferred

  • Intermediate programming skills in C++, Python, or Java
  • Ability to develop proprietary pricing models for EM FX forward curves using money market instruments
  • Experience in modeling and scenario analysis

Education / Qualifications:

Essential

  • Bachelor's degree with relevant industry experience required

Preferred

  • Advanced degree in a financial or scientific discipline
