Sky UK is a leading media and communications company seeking an exceptional Visionary Broadcast Architecture and Design Lead to join its Content Technology and Innovation team.

About the Role

As the Visionary Broadcast Architecture and Design Lead, you will be responsible for spearheading efforts in deep analysis and innovation in system design, advocating for the integration of cutting-edge technologies and best practices. Your primary objectives will include crafting architectures that enhance orchestration, automation, and control across our software and hardware solutions, laying down a clear architectural roadmap.

You will foster robust collaboration between the various Engineering Teams, translating high-level architectural strategies into practical, actionable solutions. Additionally, you will provide essential guidance and oversight, ensuring the software development lifecycle adheres to established architectural standards.

Key responsibilities will also include involvement in risk management and technology selection, assessing potential challenges and opportunities impacting system scalability, performance, and security. You will define and track KPIs and OKRs that measure and drive the team's impact on product quality and innovation.

Your Expertise

To excel in this role, you will possess significant experience in Media/telco IT solution design, including mission-critical 24/7 systems. Preferred experience in Broadcasting domain like TV Contribution, Origination, and Content processing distribution solutions will be beneficial. Knowledge of technologies, tools, and methodologies for SW solution design (API first event-driven design, data-driven automation, etc.) is required.

A proven background in DB modelling and technologies (RDBMS, NoSQL DBs, Cloud native DBs), as well as expertise in media codecs, video, and audio packaging technologies, will be advantageous. Experience in Business processes analysis, Agile and DevOps methodologies is necessary. Strong collaborative leadership, communications, and active listening skills are also essential.
