About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Vehicle Technician to join our team at Transcomm Recruitment. As an HGV Commercial Vehicle Technician, you will be responsible for performing detailed vehicle inspections to diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic equipment.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of HGV technology and repair techniques, as well as excellent problem-solving abilities and communication skills. You will work independently and as part of a team to ensure that all repairs and maintenance work complies with safety regulations and company standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire checks and replacements, and fluid top-ups.
  • Conduct repairs on various vehicle systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, steering, and suspension.
  • Assess issues related to engines, transmissions, brake systems, and other critical components of HGVs.
  • Implement preventative maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and enhance vehicle reliability.

Requirements:

  • A valid driving license is essential.
  • Proficient in the use of diagnostic tools and repair equipment specific to HGVs.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical repair skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
