Job Title: Lead Mechanical Design Engineer

About the Role:

Orion Electrotech is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Mechanical Design Engineer to lead our growing design team and drive innovation in the avionics industry. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for managing mechanical design projects from concept to completion, mentoring junior engineers, and staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in avionics and mechanical design.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute detailed project plans to ensure timely delivery of high-quality designs.
  • Lead and manage a small team of mechanical design engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
  • Conduct thorough feasibility studies, simulations, and analyses to validate design concepts.
  • Create comprehensive technical drawings, specifications, and documentation using advanced CAD software.
  • Oversee the prototyping, testing, and iteration processes to ensure designs meet stringent performance and safety standards.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in mechanical design, particularly within the avionics industry.
  • Proven track record of leading design projects from initial concept through to final delivery.
  • Strong proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar).
  • Excellent understanding of engineering principles, materials science, and manufacturing processes relevant to avionics.
