Autism Specialist

Dunbar Education is seeking an experienced Autism Specialist to join our team in a school in Hertford. This position involves providing 1:1 and group support for pupils with autism, helping them navigate academic and social challenges.
Key Responsibilities- Implement behaviour management techniques and sensory strategies to support the emotional well-being of pupils.
- Communicate clearly with parents, teachers, and external professionals to ensure a joined-up approach in supporting the pupils.
- Help create a structured, predictable, and safe learning environment that supports the unique needs of children with autism.
- At least 6 months of experience working with children with autism in an educational setting.
- Strong understanding of autism and how to adapt teaching and behaviour strategies to meet individual needs.
- A calm, patient approach and the ability to manage challenging behaviours.
- Relevant qualifications, such as a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or a specialism in SEN.
- A DBS on the update service.
