Electronics Engineer - Summer Internship

Role Overview

We are seeking an Electronics Engineer to join our team as a Summer Intern. As an Electronics Engineer, you will design and develop analogue and digital electronics, VHDL, and embedded/low-level software for a wide range of electronic systems. You will work under the guidance of our expert engineers, implementing complex signal processing algorithms in VHDL, debugging the RF chain on a software radio, and developing embedded software to run on low-power microcontrollers or ruggedized devices for challenging environments.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the full engineering lifecycle, from client engagement to hardware design and manufacture
  • Implement complex signal processing algorithms in VHDL
  • Design switch mode power supplies, work on low-power embedded systems, and develop ruggedized devices for challenging environments
  • Assist colleagues in pitching new ideas to clients
  • Manage multiple assignments independently, with support from colleagues
  • Carry out research, data collection, and analysis

Requirements

  • On track to achieve a 2:2 or above in a science, technology, engineering, or maths (STEM) subject
  • A passion for Electronic Engineering

Security Clearance

Only those with the permanent and unrestricted right to live and work in the UK will be considered for a position within BAE Systems Digital Intelligence. Due to the nature of our work, successful candidates for this role will be required to undergo Government SC clearance prior to starting with us.
