Job Summary

A highly skilled and experienced Pharmacy Technician is required to lead our community services team at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust. The successful candidate will have a strong background in pharmacy operations and be able to effectively manage and coordinate the delivery of pharmacy services across multiple community sites.

Main Responsibilities
  • Ensure the day-to-day operational management of pharmacy services is undertaken, including scheduling regular visits to community sites and building strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Review and optimise operational and technical processes involved in the supply of medicines to community services and sites.
  • Ensure all patients receive medication at the appropriate time through effective supply via various routes, including dispensary, outpatient prescriptions, FP10 prescriptions, and pre-labelled stock medications.
  • Liaise and engage with the Pharmacy Operational team on service provision changes that may impact the wider pharmacy department.
  • Lead on the audit of medicines management across community services, including medicines storage, controlled stationery storage, and temperature control.
  • Work closely with the UHCW Pharmacy Procurement team and Governance and Safety team to manage medicines shortages affecting community services.
  • Provide assurance and develop medicines management/optimisation initiatives to ensure efficient and cost-effective patient services are provided.
  • Help manage the use of FP10 prescription pads within community services.
