Orion Electrotech is a forward-thinking manufacturing company that is embarking on an exciting new phase of growth. We are seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Design Engineer to join our growing R&D Team.
Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to design and develop innovative mechanical components and products. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering and experience with 3D CAD software.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop mechanical components and products from initial concept to full-scale manufacture
- Produce design briefs and specifications for new products
- Work with cross-functional teams to design and manage multipart products
- Communicate with manufacturers to get prototypes manufactured and technical issues resolved
- Manage project budgets and BOM costs using existing components where possible
Requirements
- Mechanical Engineering Degree or HNC
- 3-5 years of industrial experience outside of university
- Proficient in 3D CAD software
- Experience with full product life-cycle design processes
- An appreciation for sheet metal, injection molding, or electronics would be beneficial
- Experience with FEA simulation tools
- Highly motivated, with the ability to work independently or within a team
