Langport, Somerset, United Kingdom Teaching Personnel Full time

We are seeking confident and creative graduates to join our Future Teachers Programme, a unique opportunity to gain practical teaching experience while working as a Cover Supervisor in a secondary school.

About the Role

As a Future Teacher, you will supervise lessons during short-term teacher absences, ensuring students stay on task with work set by the teacher. Your role involves:

  • Providing a high-quality learning experience without the need for active teaching, marking, or lesson planning.
  • Gaining valuable insight into the daily responsibilities of a teacher.

This programme is perfect for graduates who want to explore teaching and develop the skills needed to succeed in the classroom.

Benefits of the Programme

You will receive a competitive salary of £20,000 - £25,000 per annum, depending on your qualifications and experience. The regular schedule is Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM, with opportunities for professional development and discounted CPD courses through Teaching Personnel.

You will have the chance to develop practical teaching skills, build confidence, and gain hands-on experience in the classroom. Plus, you will receive direct payment through PAYE, not an umbrella company.

Subject Specialisms

Bring your passion to the classroom and choose from a range of subject areas, including Maths, English, Science, History, Geography, Ethics and Philosophy/Religious Education, Modern Foreign Languages (MFL), Technology, and other subjects you are passionate about.

What You'll Gain from the Placement

During your time in the programme, you'll maintain a journal to reflect on your experiences and growth, observe and learn from teachers across various subjects, understand how to differentiate lessons, manage behaviour, and support pupils effectively, and more.
