About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Retail Merchandising Professional to join our team at Soloman Search.

In this exciting opportunity, you will be responsible for leading Planning & Trading activities at TEALS, building on the solid commercial base established over the last 4 years of business.

You will design and implement best practice Merchandising processes that will identify and deliver future growth opportunities, continue to trade in a fast-paced environment, and support the new store rollout.

As part of a small but ambitious team, you will work collaboratively with head office, store, and senior leadership teams to deliver the next phase of business growth.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Provide Merchandising expertise for TEALS, leading process development for planning and trading activity.
  2. Work closely with Buyers to develop forward strategy and ranges for TEALS locations, delivering to time via strong critical path management.
  3. In conjunction with the Buyers, deliver sales and margin growth for Food & Non-Food retail.
  4. Establish a healthy balance between forward planning and weekly trading, maximising the opportunities provided by short lead-time product suppliers.
  5. Lead weekly trade review and set actions for relevant departments.
  6. Fully own stock management throughout the product lifecycle.
  7. Manage and develop the Merchandising Admin Assistant.
  8. Develop future Merchandising team requirements to support growth.
  9. Be a key stakeholder in business development, working with Mission Control, Store, and Buying Teams to deliver business growth and store rollout.
  10. Act as a TEALS Ambassador through close working relationships with suppliers and other external stakeholders.
Requirements
  • 3-5 years' experience working in a fast-paced B&M environment, ideally including FMCG.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills and ability to communicate figures.
  • Ability to prioritise and manage a busy workload in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to see the big picture but also the detail.
  • Self-aware, good communicator, strong interpersonal skills.
  • Systems literate.
  • Team Player.
  • Motivated to contribute to process development and continuous improvement.
  • Confident to put forward ideas and challenge the status quo.
  • Comfortable in a fast-changing environment.
  • Self-motivated and committed to developing your skills.
What We Offer
  • Salary: £38,000 - £48,000 per annum.
  • Quarterly bonus.
  • Staff discount 20%.
  • Staff lunch when on site.
  • Holiday is statutory with an extra day for each year worked up to 3 extra days.
  • Sick pay 5 days, rising to 10 days in the second year.
  • Pension contribution.
