Join Our Planning Team

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior/Principal Planner to join our Planning Strategy service. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of our borough through the development and implementation of planning policies and strategies.

About the Role

This is a career-graded post that offers a unique opportunity for a planner with experience in planning policy development and plan making to progress their career. You will work closely with our existing Principal Planner and Team Leader to deliver high-quality planning strategies and policies that meet the needs of our community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement planning policies and strategies that align with our Local Plan and national planning framework
  • Work with developers and landowners to deliver development that complements our environmental challenges, including nutrient neutrality, recreational disturbance, and biodiversity net gain
  • Contribute to the development of our planning strategy and policy development, including working with our Planning Strategy team
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to our Planning Committee and other stakeholders on planning policy and strategy
