Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic teaching assistant to join our team at a primary school in Birmingham.

Salary: £92.50-£107.50 per day (dependent on experience).

Job Type: Full-time, Long-Term Temporary to Permanent

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM (Term Time Only)

We are looking for a highly motivated and proactive individual to support our Year 1 class. As a teaching assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the class teacher in planning and delivering engaging lessons.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the class teacher in planning and delivering dynamic lessons.
  • Help pupils build essential skills in phonics, reading, writing, and mathematics.
  • Monitor and track pupil progress, sharing insights with the teacher and parents when needed.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and handle challenging situations in accordance with school policies.
  • Provide emotional and social support to foster pupils' confidence and self-esteem.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and external specialists to meet the needs of SEN or EAL pupils effectively.
Requirements:
  • A Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (or equivalent).
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience working in a primary school setting.
  • Proven experience in supporting children with SEN and managing challenging behaviour.
  • A thorough understanding of safeguarding practices and child protection protocols.
