Job Title: Staff Nurse - Neonatal Unit

We are seeking an exceptional individual to join our Neonatal Unit at Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh NHS Foundation Trust as a Staff Nurse. The successful candidate will have a passion for delivering high-quality patient care and be committed to working in a dynamic and supportive team environment.

Job Overview

The Neonatal Unit at Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh NHS Foundation Trust provides specialist care to newborn babies who require medical attention. As a Staff Nurse on this unit, you will be responsible for delivering individualized patient care, working closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for a group of infants, ensuring that their needs are met and their care is tailored to their individual requirements.
  • Support the Lead Nurse in delivering the core values and beliefs of the ward/department, ensuring that high standards of quality, quantity, and timeliness are maintained.
  • Undertake, perform, and assess enhanced skills within the clinical area, to improve the patient experience and journey.
  • Develop competencies in self which safeguard practice and effectiveness in role, ensuring that you are up-to-date with the latest evidence-based practice and guidelines.
  • Empower self and colleagues to creatively meet professional and organisational objectives, working collaboratively to achieve the best possible outcomes for our patients.
Person Specification

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced nurse who has a passion for delivering high-quality patient care. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Current NMC Registration or due to obtain within the next couple of months.
  • Experience of working in a neonatal setting, with a strong understanding of current issues impacting on neonatal care.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and patients.
  • Able to recognize potentially stressful situations and help deal with them appropriately.
  • Flexible approach to working hours, with a willingness to work night duty and participate in internal rotation.
