Job Summary

Websters Rural is seeking an experienced Agricultural Operations Manager to play a crucial role in the success of our farming operations. As the Assistant Farm Manager, you will be involved in the planning and execution of all crop operations, working closely with the Farm Manager to ensure the smooth running of the farm and the delivery of high-quality, sustainable produce.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement crop production plans to meet business objectives
  • Direct and organize team members to deliver plans and ensure timely completion of tasks
  • Manage cultivations, fertiliser applications, and other farm operations to optimize crop yields and quality
  • Contribute to planning for the following season, including crop selection, soil preparation, and irrigation management
  • Deputise for Farm Manager during absences and provide leadership to the farm team

Requirements

  • Proven experience in agricultural operations, crop production, or a related field
  • Strong knowledge of crop management, soil science, and agricultural best practices
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and direct a team
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make informed decisions
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances
