We are seeking a highly skilled Insurance Underwriter to join our team at Liberty Specialty Markets. As an Underwriter, you will play a critical role in providing underwriting support to our team involved in large corporate and international risks.
Key Responsibilities- Strategy and Planning
- Develop and implement underwriting strategies in accordance with our business plan to meet business objectives.
- Contribute to the planning process through research and preparation of relevant materials.
- Stay up-to-date with market dynamics and market cycles to support the performance of our underwriting team.
- Underwrite insurance risks in accordance with our business plan and personal authority to meet business objectives.
- Ensure compliance with production and issue of documentation in accordance with contract certainty requirements.
- Support the review and analysis of our portfolio to identify progress towards business objectives.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable internal and external laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and guidance.
- Adhere to underwriting standards, instructions, and best practice methodology to minimize risk.
- A level of understanding of Professional Indemnity Insurance.
- Develop knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements.
- Intermediate level understanding of relevant software, including Excel and other departmental software packages.
- Experience gained within the insurance industry.
- Intent or progress towards relevant insurance qualification.
