As a Quantity Surveyor at Mace, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the cost and risk management of construction projects, maximizing value for our clients while meeting statutory building regulations and quality standards. You will work closely with our team to establish client requirements, prepare and analyze project costings, and negotiate contracts and work schedules.


Key responsibilities will include:



  • Assisting in establishing client requirements and undertaking feasibility studies to ensure project proposals meet client needs.
  • Preparing and analyzing project costings for tenders, including materials, quantities, labor, and time.
  • Preparing tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities with the architect and/or client.
  • Negotiating contracts and work schedules.
  • Allocating work to subcontractors and overseeing their work throughout the construction process.
  • Performing risk, value management, and cost control during construction.
  • Undertaking cost analysis for repair and maintenance project work.
  • Advising on procurement strategy and identifying, analyzing, and developing responses to commercial risks.
  • Providing advice on contractual claims and disputes.
  • Analyzing outcomes and writing detailed progress reports.
  • Valuing completed work, overseeing bills, and arranging payments.
  • Maintaining awareness of current building contracts and understanding the implications of health and safety regulations.

To succeed in this role, you will need:
