As our Lead Financial Strategist, you will be responsible for driving financial strategy and operational excellence in our high-growth startup environment. This is an on-site role in London with a flexible (hybrid) office arrangement, requiring you to be in the office at least 3 days a week after an initial onboarding period.

About You
  • You have 8+ years of professional experience, including within a startup or scaleup environment and having led a Finance team.
  • You possess strong expertise in financial modelling, budgeting, forecasting, and financial strategic planning.
  • You have a proven track record of driving financial performance and operational efficiency.
  • You are keen-eyed, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where ambiguity and adaptability are key.
  • You have excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Your Responsibilities
  • Provide financial insights and analysis to support company strategy, growth opportunities, and fundraising.
  • Develop and maintain financial models to support business planning and decision-making.
  • Analyze financial performance against key performance indicators (KPIs) and benchmarks.
  • Identify and mitigate financial risks, including market and operational risks.
Budgeting and Forecasting
  • Lead the annual budgeting process, ensuring alignment with company goals.
  • Prepare and update financial forecasts, incorporating business performance and trends.
  • Monitor and report on budget variances, coordinating actions across teams as needed.
Financial Management
  • You will manage the current finance team, including the Head of Finance and Finance Manager.
  • You will ensure accurate and timely financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • You will oversee payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable processes across both our UK and US entities.
  • You will implement and maintain robust internal controls and financial policies.
