Owen Mumford Ltd is seeking a skilled Shift Maintenance Engineer to ensure the delivery of business needs by performing effective troubleshooting and planned preventative maintenance routines.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with high-speed manufacturing equipment, preferably within the medical, pharmaceutical or food industry. They should be able to work with flexibility regarding shift patterns and be willing to work overtime as required.

This role involves carrying out repairs on machinery in all areas of the site, liaising with production personnel to minimize downtime, and ensuring that planned preventative maintenance is carried out correctly in a timely manner. The Shift Maintenance Engineer will also troubleshoot machine stoppages and implement required repairs, escalating where needed.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • NVQ level 3/ONC/HNC qualified or equivalent in electrical or mechanical engineering
  • Working experience with high-speed manufacturing equipment, ideally within the medical, pharmaceutical or food industry
  • Hands-on experience within mechanical and electrical fault finding and repairing
  • Working knowledge of current safety regulations and legislation
  • The ability to demonstrate theoretical knowledge with practical application
  • To make quick decisions under pressure
  • Excellent communication skills
  • To be proactive and work with a sense of urgency to a fast pace
