Job Summary:

This is an exciting opportunity to work as a teaching assistant at Abersychan School, a vibrant 11-16 school with a roll of 770 pupils serving the north of Torfaen.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support teachers in the classroom to deliver high-quality education to students.
  • Assist with the development of positive and caring relationships with children.
  • Contribute to a forward-looking and knowledgeable teaching team.

Requirements:

  • Excellent numeracy and literacy skills, equivalent to NVQ Level 2 in English and Maths.
  • Meet Teaching Assistant standards or equivalent qualification (NVQ 3) or experience.
  • Experience working with children to relevant age (notably secondary school age).
  • Ability to work constructively and flexibly as part of a team.
