We are seeking a highly skilled Pavement Engineer to join our Asset Management team in the UK. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to maintain and improve the condition of the M25 road network.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and maintain the National Highways Pavement Management System (HAPMS) to ensure accurate network referencing, construction updates, and reporting.
- Collect and manage highway inventory asset data using HD video and upload it into the Asset Management systems.
- Identify and scope maintenance, renewal, and improvement projects to address pavement issues.
- Assist with the management of technical inspections and machine surveys to evaluate completed surveys and identify missing or incomplete data.
- Provide input into the production of the Asset Management Forward Planning for road traffic signs to continuously improve the 30-year program.
- Identify and promote innovations to drive continuous improvement, and weigh potential improvement funding opportunities against National Highways Value Management principles and Contract Change Impact.
- Work closely with commercial and financial business areas to provide technical support and help the wider business understand the impact of third-party additional works and network improvement schemes on pavement assets.
- Qualified to degree level or proven experience.
- Progressing towards or membership of an appropriate Professional Institute (e.g., ICE, CIHT, or equivalent).
- Strong management of pavement assets and familiarity with pavement design standards in accordance with the DMRB, MCHW.
- General understanding of pavement operations, maintenance, and renewal, and RWSC.
- Skilled in MS Office applications.
- A general understanding and exposure to real-time Asset databases, with a willingness to apply skills to new and evolving Asset Management Systems and Tools (Agile).
- Capable communicator and active team member.
- Methodical and structured approach, working individually or as part of a team.
- Available to be placed on the call-out register, covering six days in six weeks.
- Ability to develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
