Wellbeing Support Specialist

Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Wellbeing Tutor to join their permanent staff team.
This role offers the chance to be part of a close-knit school community that is deeply committed to the wellbeing and success of its students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Delivering individual and group wellbeing sessions that are tailored to students' needs, focusing on their emotional and mental health.
- Supporting students in developing resilience, self-esteem, and coping strategies to help them thrive in both academic and social settings.
- Collaborating with teachers, support staff, and external professionals to ensure an integrated approach to student welfare.
- Identifying students who require additional wellbeing support and implementing action plans to assist their development.
- Building strong, trusting relationships with students to facilitate open communication and create a safe space for them to express their thoughts and concerns.
- Monitoring and reporting on student progress and wellbeing to senior staff and parents/carers where appropriate.
- Participating in staff meetings, training, and continuous professional development to ensure best practices are followed in supporting SEN students.
Candidate Requirements:
- Relevant qualifications in mental health, wellbeing, counselling, or a related field (e.g., psychology, education, social work).
- Experience working with young people, preferably in an SEN or educational setting.
- A thorough understanding of mental health issues in children and adolescents, and experience in providing pastoral or emotional support.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with both students and staff.
- A compassionate, patient, and empathetic approach to supporting vulnerable students.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage a caseload effectively.
- An enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one).
Desirable:
- Experience in delivering therapeutic or wellbeing interventions such as mindfulness, CBT, or art therapy.
- Knowledge of SEN, particularly Autism Spectrum Disorders, ADHD, and Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
