Abatec Recruitment is proud to be involved in a groundbreaking nuclear power project in the UK, providing zero-carbon electricity for millions of homes.

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Construction Engineer to join our client's team in Bridgwater, Somerset. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing change throughout the project lifecycle, with a strong understanding of LTQR's, RFI's, FCR's, and TQ's.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in construction or electrical engineering, with proven experience in safely delivering large-scale construction or engineering projects. They will also have experience working on major projects and knowledge of Electrical Safe Systems of Work.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Delegation of responsibilities to construction engineers / Works Coordination Leads
  2. Lead, manage and motivate the team through implementation of best practice
  3. Accountable to deliver Discipline Specific Construction Work Pack scope of works to support the MEH Alliance construction activities
  4. Define boundary of scope of works
  5. Liaising with necessary SME's and client counterparts
  6. Ensuring documents are compliant with latest works information
  7. Ensure documents are kept up-to-date and reviewed periodically where required
  8. Ownership and driving of deliverables from conception
  9. Prioritisation and ownership of documentation to enable construction works
  10. Support continuous improvement programmes to improve process/procedures
  11. Directly report to the Building Manager or nominated deputy
  12. Provide and demonstrate a positive HSE leadership, building a strong and compliant HS&E culture throughout the whole construction life cycle of the Project
  13. Ensure compliance with all nuclear safety and site licence requirements
  14. Review and feedback on suitability of level of resource to effectively run the support

Requirements:

  1. Degree Qualification (or Equivalent) in construction or electrical engineering.
  2. IOSH Managing Safely or NEBOSH
  3. Proven experience of safely delivering large scale construction or engineering projects including working at a management level of authority.
  4. Experience working on major projects.
  5. Experience and knowledge of Electrical Safe Systems of Work
