Repair Technician Volunteer

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Repair Technician Volunteer to join our team at Greener and Cleaner. As a Repair Technician Volunteer, you will play a vital role in our pilot project, which aims to reduce waste and increase the confidence of visitors by providing repair services at our new drop-in repair cafe.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have experience in repairing general household items, electrical appliances, bicycles, furniture, and wooden items. You will be comfortable working in a customer-facing role in a diverse community and be a team player. PAT testing training is an advantage, but not essential, as we can provide training if necessary.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide repair services at our new drop-in repair cafe
  • Work with a team to create a supportive and engaging experience for visitors
  • Help reduce waste by repairing items brought to the repair cafe or suggesting alternative sustainable solutions

Requirements

  • Experience in repairing general household items, electrical appliances, bicycles, furniture, and wooden items
  • Comfortable working in a customer-facing role in a diverse community
  • Team player with excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
